What happens in class?
Here's what a 4 week part-time course with us might look like;
WEEK 1
Tuesday
Discussion activities and ice-breakers to get to know your new classmates.
Thursday
Grammar presentation and practice activities - Speaking practice using new grammar structure
WEEK 2
Tuesday
Speaking activities to revise and use grammar from last week in real-world contexts.
Thursday
Listening and vocabulary lesson - understanding new vocabulary in real-life situations
WEEK 3
Monday
Writing an informal email to a friend or colleague
Tuesday
Speaking - useful expressions to show interest, agreement and disagreement in everyday conversations
WEEK 4
Wednesday
Reading & vocabulary lesson - Read a magazine article and discuss phrases and expressions in the text
Thursday
Authentic video or podcast - listen and discuss themes and opinions - Revision of previous weeks.
What's included?
Our courses include intensive classes delivered over Zoom. You also receive access to our Google Classroom, where you can access extra practice materials, chat with your teacher and classmates and submit and share your work.
How we teach
At Academy Online English we teach our classes using the Communicative Method, with a particular focus on speaking and listening skills. This means that you will learn English by communicating with real people in real time in ways that reflect how people communicate every day in the real world. To do this, we ensure that our lessons are focused on the specific needs of every students and we create and select the materials to ensure that every student achieves their individual goals.
